Intro to Painting & Colour mixing [beginner level]

starting Oct. 10, 9am to 12pmPerfect for beginners and anyone wanting to strengthen their painting fundamentals.
Learn the foundations of painting through observation, colour theory, and hands-on practice.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, students will explore how to mix a full range of colours using only the primary colours. Through colour wheel exercises and guided demonstrations, participants will gain confidence in understanding hue, value, and colour relationships.
Students will then apply these skills to an observational still life painting, learning how to accurately see and mix the colours needed to paint a simple object from life.

"Visual Art for kids"
Ages 8 to 14 years
Fridays 3:30 to 5:00 pmThis 6 week program is perfect for kids who love to paint and draw! During the first three weeks, children will explore a variety of drawing techniques and experiment with different mediums, from graphite to charcoal.
The second half of the course will focus on painting. Each child will choose an image that inspires them and bring it to life using acrylic paint. Through step-by-step instruction, they’ll learn how to build layers, create depth, and develop their painting skills while having fun and expressing their creativity.
Beginner-friendly, no prior experience required
ALL Art supplies are included.

"Beginner Drawing for Adults"
Tuesdays 5:30 to 8:00 pm
This 6-week course focuses on drawing and painting.
During the first 3 weeks, students will explore foundational drawing practices, including contour, gesture, sighting, and value. We’ll work with a variety of materials, including graphite, Conté, and charcoal.
The second half of the course introduces the foundations of acrylic painting, including colour mixing, colour theory, and clear step-by-step methods for building value in your paintings.
Whether you’re new to drawing and painting or simply looking to strengthen your skills, this course provides a supportive introduction to the fundamentals while giving you plenty of opportunity to practice and experiment.
